Some of the most interesting historical facts happened in Sarajevo, the capital of BiH - amongst other things, this is where certain actions occurred that lead to the beginning of WWI. Known as the Jerusalem of the Balkans, Sarajevo is a place worth visiting.

Tara river is one of the most popular choices for rafting in Bosnia and is more fun and more extreme than rafting on the Neretva river. With 23 rapids on a 22 km tour, Tara will definitely be the highlight of your visit to Bosnia. Upon reaching the Šćepan polje border, rivers Tara and Piva create the river Drina, and so you the opportunity to overcome two rivers on your rafting day-trip near Sarajevo, just over an hour away from the city! You will bring home wonderful memories about rafting in the Tara canyon and have GoPro footages of your adventure to brag how you overcame the emerald beauty.

TARA RAFTING FROM SARAJEVO - ORGANIZED TRANSPORT

We need a minimum of 4 people for organizing this tour, however, if you are booking for less than 4 people, feel free to contact us to check if we can combine your booking with another group. The transport is organized from the main bus station or the address you have specified, where our driver will come and pick you up and this is where he will leave you upon return.

The drive is around 2 hours long, taking the route M18 towards Foča and Šćepan polje, with a few short breaks if necessary. Depending on how many people will be joining you, you will be driven either in a 5-seat car or in a minivan. It is necessary for you to bring your documents (passport) and some money for the beverages, your swimming suits, towels, and shower gel.

Don’t forget your sunglasses and some sunscreen, and make sure to bring a USB or an SD card not smaller than 32 GB so we can transfer the video from the tour to you right after the tour.

MORNING TOUR

8:00 AM - our driver arrives in Sarajevo to meet with you at the entrance to the main bus station or the address you have specified; from there he will drive you cross the border towards the base camp, enjoying the marvelous views on the way

YOUR OWN TRANSPORT

In case you will be traveling to do the rafting tour with your own vehicle, we would suggest you drive from Sarajevo using the M18 road towards Foča town, where you should turn on the first right after crossing the bridge. Following the P14 road on the high mountain tops, you will reach road M18 and then turn right, passing by the Piva lake until you reach Šćepan polje border. It is not a long drive - around 2 hours.

The meeting point is at the base camp, which is just behind the border. We would like to ask you to arrive on time, between 10 and 10:30 AM. Of course, there is a free parking lot at the base camp, where your car will remain safe until you return back from the tour. It is necessary for you to bring your documents (passport), and some money for the beverages, your swimming suits, towels, and shower gel.

The true identity of a country can be recognized after trying a homemade meal when visiting a venue with traditional values. A great meal can restore strength and energy, it can prepare you for the challenging day in front of you and also warm you up after an exciting day filled with adventure!

At Outdoor TaraSport we nurture domestic, traditional cuisine, which creates a special feeling of welcomeness and intimacy with our guests. All ingredients are produced in the surroundings of our camp, in the same way our ancestors did, centuries ago. These landscapes represent a rare oasis of unspoiled nature in Europe, so the products of our region are unpolluted and healthy. The meals that we offer to you are made of organically grown fruits, vegetables and meat are grown and raised by the local villagers from Durmitor, Maglić, Zelengora and other highlands nearby.

In addition to delicious meals, we offer you authentic beverages of this region. Homemade brandy called “rakija” will surely elevate the mood (plum brandy, pear brandy, apple, quince) along with wines from the finest wineries. A new trend in our area are local beer brewers who make such good beer, they can definitely put some serious beer brands to shame. Traditional alcoholic drinks are not all that we serve - at our restaurant, you can choose from a variety of fruit juices, warm tea from the best herbs and popular hot beverages.

Fun activities, impressive views, and unique surroundings are an amazing way to get to know our country, but the best way to get to know the people is through food. Food is what brings everyone together and it is our wish to have you join us at the table. Our menu is made with a passion for fine cuisine and the joy of introducing our heritage:

For breakfast: uštipci, buns, ham, smoked prosciutto, smoked meat, eggs, sour cream, honey, meadow teas, and sweets of seasonal fruits.
For lunch: muffins, cabbage pies, bread under the ashes, various soups, triftarski beans, the roasting veal and lamb meat, lamb and pork, salads.
For dinner: a brook trout, polenta, potato under the ashes, roasted lamb, hunter's stew, salads, cheeses, ham and prosciutto from Herzegovina.
For dessert: tulumbe, baklava, urmašice.

People who are on a special diet should announce this when making a reservation and we will try to respond to your every request and need.
We can serve vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and meals for guests who have certain allergies.
Groups can be served with other types of meals, depending on the wishes of guests and the camp's abilities.
