Canyon Nevidio (Montenegro) is a rare natural phenomenon, which will not leave indifferent even the most seasoned adrenaline lovers and it's located below the slopes of Durmitor, at the narrowest part of the river Komarnica. For a long time has this gem of nature been hidden from the eyes of people, and the first passage through it was in 1965. It is the last conquered canyon in Europe, the real challenge for the seasoned climbers. Until 10 years ago only the fittest and most courageous hikers have dared to enter its narrow gorges. Now with the safe leadership of licensed and experienced guides of TARASPORT team, if you have physical readiness and certain skills and you can enjoy a surreal blend of sport, risks and opportunities.

Trip itinerary

Departure time: 9 AM
Tour duration: 3 to 4 hours in canyon Nevidio, 8 hours in total

The unique adrenaline experience begins in the early hours of the morning when you come to our camp. Here you will get all the necessary equipment (helmets, life jackets, neoprene suits, and boots), then in our jeeps, we ride to Durmitor. Attractive surreal landscapes will take your breath away all the way and you will not resist not to capture them with your photo cameras.

At the place where the river Komarica narrows to only 10 m, there is hardly noticeable, carved in the wall the entrance to the canyon Nevidio. At 100 m from the entrance is another natural rarity, occasional waterfall Skakavac. While putting on the equipment we'll have a brief conversation to get to know you with its use and what awaits us in the canyon, so we can safely pass all its pitfalls. The first encounter with steep and smooth cliffs, and water that freezes the blood in your veins, will leave you breathless and dazzled with its rugged beauty. Most of the canyon is located in the eternal shadow where sunlight does not reach ever. Anyone who has ever gone through a canyon Nevidio will agree that the words can't describe the feeling as you swim through a narrow strait, and above you and only see a thin line in the sky or jumping into foamy waves of several meters in height. Fear, Risk, joy- all at the same time.

The width of the canyon in some places is only half a meter, so for about 3 to 4 hours, the duration of the tour, adrenaline will jump to maximum more times. Our professional guides will help you to successfully overcome all obstacles and discover every part of this hidden mountain pearl.

At Outdoor TaraSport we nurture domestic, traditional cuisine, which creates a special feeling of welcomeness and intimacy with our guests. All ingredients are produced in the surroundings of our camp, in the same way our ancestors did, centuries ago. These landscapes represent a rare oasis of unspoiled nature in Europe, so the products of our region are unpolluted and healthy. The meals that we offer to you are made of organically grown fruits, vegetables and meat are grown and raised by the local villagers from Durmitor, Maglić, Zelengora and other highlands nearby.

In addition to delicious meals, we offer you authentic beverages of this region. Homemade brandy called “rakija” will surely elevate the mood (plum brandy, pear brandy, apple, quince) along with wines from the finest wineries. A new trend in our area are local beer brewers who make such good beer, they can definitely put some serious beer brands to shame. Traditional alcoholic drinks are not all that we serve - at our restaurant, you can choose from a variety of fruit juices, warm tea from the best herbs and popular hot beverages.

Fun activities, impressive views, and unique surroundings are an amazing way to get to know our country, but the best way to get to know the people is through food. Food is what brings everyone together and it is our wish to have you join us at the table. Our menu is made with a passion for fine cuisine and the joy of introducing our heritage:

For breakfast: uštipci, buns, ham, smoked prosciutto, smoked meat, eggs, sour cream, honey, meadow teas, and sweets of seasonal fruits.
For lunch: muffins, cabbage pies, bread under the ashes, various soups, triftarski beans, the roasting veal and lamb meat, lamb and pork, salads.
For dinner: a brook trout, polenta, potato under the ashes, roasted lamb, hunter's stew, salads, cheeses, ham and prosciutto from Herzegovina.
For dessert: tulumbe, baklava, urmašice.

Notes:

People who are on a special diet should announce this when making a reservation and we will try to respond to your every request and need.
We can serve vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and meals for guests who have certain allergies.
Groups can be served with other types of meals, depending on the wishes of guests and the camp's abilities.
