Trip itinerary

Departure time: 9 AM
Tour duration: 4 to 6 hours each day

Day 1 - Check-in

Our tour begins with your arrival at our base camp, Outdoor resort TaraSport, in the late afternoon hours. After settling in your bungalow, dinner is served in the evening and then you can enjoy your time at the camp's restaurant or rest since a big adventure awaits us tomorrow.

Day 2 - Hiking tour Black Lake (1500 masl) - White Lake (1450 masl) - Ljubin Grob - Kozje Strane (2014 masl) - Orlovačko Lake (1438 masl)

We wake up early and after breakfast, which will give us the needed energy, we head out with our jeeps towards Zelengora. The vehicle will leave us at the start point of the hike and one guide will continue towards Lake Orlovačko to transport the supplies and tents. Our starting point is a village called Vrbnica, and from there we shall first visit the Black Lake (1500 masl), White Lake (1450 masl), Ljubin Grob, Kozje Strane (2014 masl) until finally reaching Orlovačko Lake (1438 masl). Today you will see why the lakes of Zelengora are called "mountain eyes", with their amazing color and wide surface. After a short break, we set the tents and then have lunch. After lunch, we are free to do some fun activities in nature, including taking photographs and swimming in the lake. In the early evening hours, we shall have dinner by the fire. Sleeping in tents brings us closer to nature and allows us to rest after a long day.

Day 3 - Hiking tour Borilovačko Lake (1500 masl) - Kotlaničko Lake (1525 masl) - Stirinsko Lake (1672 masl)

A new day begins with a morning coffee, followed by breakfast. Once we are ready, we continue our tour. Today we will be visiting Borilovačko Lake (1500 masl), Kotlaničko Lake (1525 masl), and Stirinsko Lake (1672 masl). This tour is perfect for getting to know the uniqueness of all those lakes. The reflection of the surrounding peaks on the surface of the water leaves you breathless as if the stunning landscape itself wasn't enough - nature had to find a way to double the impression. After a short break there, we will return to the base at the Orlovačko Lake. An exciting day continues with lunch and leisure activities in nature. Following are dinner near the campfire and another overnight stay in tents.

Day 4 - Hiking tour Bregoč peak (2014 masl) - Javorak - Uglješin Vrh (1859 masl) - Lake Gornje Bare (1550 masl) - Lake Donje Bare (1492 masl)

The last day of hiking begins with morning coffee and breakfast, of course. After breakfast, we pack the equipment and send the supplies in the direction of the camp. Today we shall hike up to the peaks of Zelengora, Bregoč peak (2014 masl), Javorak, and Uglješin Vrh (1859 masl), where we make a break for lunch. From there we descend to the plateau beneath the peaks, where liest Lake Gornje Bare (1550 masl). The plateau is vivid with wild flowers and bushes with berries. Our path shall then take us through a thick forest, and after 1,5 km we reach Lake Donje Bare (1492 masl). Our vehicles will be waiting for us nearby the lake to take us back to the camp. Upon arrival, we settle into our bungalows, and after resting, dinner is served in the evening hours. Tonight, you will be staying in a cozy bed, but you will definitely be thinking about sleeping on the fresh grass.

Day 5 - Check-out

In the morning we greet you with a warm breakfast, knowing that today we must part our ways. Still full of impressions, we wish you a safe trip and remind you to visit us when you are nearby so that we can share another experience together!

Food

The true identity of a country can be recognized after trying a homemade meal when visiting a venue with traditional values. A great meal can restore strength and energy, it can prepare you for the challenging day in front of you and also warm you up after an exciting day filled with adventure!

At Outdoor TaraSport we nurture domestic, traditional cuisine, which creates a special feeling of welcomeness and intimacy with our guests. All ingredients are produced in the surroundings of our camp, in the same way our ancestors did, centuries ago. These landscapes represent a rare oasis of unspoiled nature in Europe, so the products of our region are unpolluted and healthy. The meals that we offer to you are made of organically grown fruits, vegetables and meat are grown and raised by the local villagers from Durmitor, Maglić, Zelengora and other highlands nearby.

In addition to delicious meals, we offer you authentic beverages of this region. Homemade brandy called “rakija” will surely elevate the mood (plum brandy, pear brandy, apple, quince) along with wines from the finest wineries. A new trend in our area are local beer brewers who make such good beer, they can definitely put some serious beer brands to shame. Traditional alcoholic drinks are not all that we serve - at our restaurant, you can choose from a variety of fruit juices, warm tea from the best herbs and popular hot beverages.

Fun activities, impressive views, and unique surroundings are an amazing way to get to know our country, but the best way to get to know the people is through food. Food is what brings everyone together and it is our wish to have you join us at the table. Our menu is made with a passion for fine cuisine and the joy of introducing our heritage:

For breakfast: uštipci, buns, ham, smoked prosciutto, smoked meat, eggs, sour cream, honey, meadow teas, and sweets of seasonal fruits.
For lunch: muffins, cabbage pies, bread under the ashes, various soups, triftarski beans, the roasting veal and lamb meat, lamb and pork, salads.
For dinner: a brook trout, polenta, potato under the ashes, roasted lamb, hunter's stew, salads, cheeses, ham and prosciutto from Herzegovina.
For dessert: tulumbe, baklava, urmašice.

Notes:

People who are on a special diet should announce this when making a reservation and we will try to respond to your every request and need.
We can serve vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and meals for guests who have certain allergies.
Groups can be served with other types of meals, depending on the wishes of guests and the camp's abilities.
