- Time of departure: 9 AM
- Tour duration: 6 hours
Our adventure begins early in the morning with your arrival at our base camp, Outdoor resort TaraSport. Upon arrival, you will meet our professional hiking guide, who will be conducting your tour. Once we get to know each other, we leave the camp and head towards Zelengora with our off-road jeeps.
The first lake that we will visit, which is also our starting point of the hike, is Lake Orlovačko (1438 masl). The length of the lake is 350 meters and the width is 100 meters, with an average depth of 5 meters. This lake is the home of many fish types, including the Brown trout, Arctic char, and the Rainbow trout. East of the lake you can see the peaks Orlovac and Orlovača, on the south-east Bregoč (2014 masl), Stog (1821 masl) on the south, and Ljeljen (1765 masl) of the north, and the lake itself lies in the central part of the Zelengora massif. From there we continue towards the north-west, along pastures, and through forests. Then our path takes us through a narrow valley between peaks Kalelija (1975 masl) on your left side and Osredak (1828 masl) on your right. This valley leads us straight to Lake Štirinsko (1677 masl). This lake is the largest of all lakes of Zelengora - it is 600 meters long, around 300 meters wide and in some places up to 4,5 meters deep. To the east, you can enjoy the view of two peaks - Todor (1949 masl) and Osredak (1828 masl). The pasture around the lake is the home to plenty of little warbler birds flying around the water. To reach our next lake we shall pass half of the left side of Lake Štirinsko and then turn left through a notch towards the north-west. Soon we will cross an area with little rocky peaks and an interesting natural phenomenon - sinkholes in the ground. Then we pass a lovely green valley with a creek flowing through it and after an hour of walking, we reach Lake Kotlaničko (1514 masl). The length of the lake is 480 meters and the width is 200 meters. Even though this lake isn't the largest, it is certainly one of the deepest - in some places, it is 10 meters deep! This lake is surrounded by the following peaks - Dumoš (1882 masl), Prutača (1817 masl), Klek (1899 masl), and Zimovnica (1742 masl).
This is the perfect place to take a break for lunch, taking photos and enjoying the wide vastness and the surrounding mountain ranges that stretch in front of us. After our rest, we return back to Lake Orlovačko and with our jeeps proceed towards the camp. Upon return, we exchange impressions and say our goodbyes, with hopes of seeing you soon for joining us in a new adventure!
